Love Like Lou Community Day

Family, friends, church members, former players, neighbors, coworkers, and volunteers came together at the North Shore Little League fields to honor Louis Erebia in a way that reflected how he lived.

This was not a day centered on tragedy. It was a day centered on the life Louis lived, the people he loved, and the community he served for so many years.

Volunteers helped prepare the fields for the next season by cleaning, mowing, leveling, working around the park, and giving their time to a place that meant so much to Lou and his family.

Louis faithfully served North Shore Little League for decades. Long after his own children had grown, he continued showing up for the kids, families, and community around him. He gave his time without needing recognition. He helped because that was who he was.

Love Like Lou Community Day was created to continue that legacy.

The community chose service over anger, faith over fear, and love over hate. In the middle of grief, people showed up with their hands, hearts, and prayers to honor Louis in a way that would have made him proud.

Today was not about the tragedy that took Louis from us. It was about the incredible life he lived.

Thank you to every person who showed up to honor Louis, love on the Erebia family, and continue his legacy of service. Seeing the community come together to give back the way Louis did for so many years was a powerful reminder that light will always overcome darkness.

We still want justice. We still believe everyone responsible must be held accountable. That fight continues.

But this day was about choosing to respond the way Louis would have. Instead of hate, we chose kindness. Instead of destruction, we chose service. Instead of darkness, we chose to shine his light.
